Obituary of D. K. Shyamasundara Rao (Kamadhenu Publishers)

Prof D. K. Shyamasundara Rao, proprietor of Pusthaka Bhandara, Legislature's Hostel, Bangalore and Kamadhenu Publishers passed away on 5th February 2022 at 8:27 PM. 

Prof Rao was an Assistant Director, Department of Collegiate Education and worked as Secretary, Kannada Pusthaka Pradhikara. He has published many well known Kannada writers including Dr. S. Srikanta Sastri - the well known historian. He has published seven titles of Dr S. Srikanta Sastri's work.The family members of Dr S. Srikanta Sastri express their heartfelt condolences to the family members of Dr Rao. May the almighty bless the departed soul to rest in peace.

ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು ಆದ ಶ್ರೀ ಚ. ಸುಂದರೇಶನ್ ಎಂ. ಎ., ಅವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಲಿಪಿಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಒಂದಂಶವಾದ "ತಲೆಕಟ್ಟು" ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಮಾಡಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾತ್ಮಕವಾದ ಈ ಚಿಕ್ಕಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿರುವರು. ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಆಕೃತಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾದರೂ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯೂ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯೂ ಬೃಹತ್ತಾಗಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಲಿಪಿವಿನ್ಯಾಸದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಬಹಳ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ. ಲಿಪಿಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಧ್ಯಯನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಬೂಹ್ಲರ್ ಬರ್ನೆಲ್ ಅಂತಹವರ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳೇ ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ತೋಗರೆ ನಂಜುಂಡಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳ "ಕರ್ಣಾಟ ಭಾಷಲಿಪಿ", ನನ್ನ "ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ", "ಪುರಾತತ್ವ ಶೋಧನೆ"ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥೂಲವಾಗಿ ಇದರ ವಿವೇಚನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಶ್ರೀ. ಚ. ಸುಂದರೇಶನ್ ಅವರ ಗ್ರಂಥ ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳ ತಲೆಕಟ್ಟಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
